What happens if we don’t follow what we’re taught

Life…How do you define it? Is it a series of mundane and quotidian activities? Is it a bunch of rules we flick around and follow? Isn’t also a bit banal that everyone seems to have a common philosophy of life? That also seems to make us a flock of sheep’s doing what we learnt as a child. An individual might call himself a unique person, but to think of it, we have nothing at all unique: our circadian cycles are more or less the same; we are constituted of the same things every human is; we all are given a standard set of rules in life and we all are influenced and manipulated by the society.

One day, I woke up to find things in disarray and chaos. The sense of orderliness I’ve felt all my life till the day before has seemed to vanish. The washing machine in my bedroom, my shoes in the bathroom, my wardrobe scattered over the dining hall and many more of a gory scene which I wish I didn’t see. After a lot of groping around for my stuff(where I found my notes in the microwave which was placed over the toilet seat), I left home an hour later than I was supposed to. While on my way to college, things there didn’t get any better. The roads didn’t seem to lead to the places it used to and the names seemed to be a mismatch. Orderliness, then, I realised is what we’ve all stayed sane through. Orderliness has been inculcated in every one of us ever since we’re a child: starting from arranging our toys neatly to keeping our homes in perfect tidiness. We never realise why we need it and we might also say that we prefer it to be strewn around, but, in real orderliness define us; for the sense of orderliness is there in every single thing a human has ever done. While this monologue is being spoken out in my mind, I still seem to be lost and my college is missing!
